Founded by Harry Fynn, Retold is a personal approach to documenting family stories, shaped by a lifelong belief in the importance of using video and sound to help preserve the memory of the people and moments that matter most.
We are based in Dorset, working across the UK.

A glimpse into what we can createHarry created this film for his family, it was a personal project made to honour the memory of his dad.
Every film we create is approached with the same care and intention, and remains entirely private unless a client chooses to share it.

Our Process
We keep it simple
Conversation & Preparation
We get to know our clients and learn about the stories and people they want captured and preserved on film. We explore what, if any, film/photos/video are available and how we can use it to tell the story.
Filming the Individual or Family
Relaxed, natural filming in a place that feels right. Where possible, we involve family members, on or off camera, helping create a more natural, familiar environment. This helps us draw out stories in a way that feels genuine. Filming often requires just 1 or sometimes 2 individuals to set up and manage the production. We do this to ensure it’s a comfortable, private experience for everyone.
Crafting the Film
We carefully shape and personalise the interview footage and any archive into a beautiful, meaningful record. At this point we help you decide whether to create multiple videos or just one.
Your Investment
A legacy to cherish
This is something families might only have one chance to capture. Each film is bespoke and meticulously crafted to reflect a life and a story.
Upon handing over your documentary, we know it immediately becomes a precious family heirloom.
We will guide you on how your film can be stored, shared and passed on, with options for secure digital archiving. Personalised physical keepsakes can also help families and future generations stay connect to the digital archive.
